Last Day as an Intern
It is my last day as an intern at M2O and it was a great experience. I learned a lot about social media, blogging, tweeting and using Facebook effectively. I researched story topics and came up with story ideas for the blog. I even uploaded a video on Yube Tube – which was an amazing feat for me. It was funny to see myself on Yube Tube. I got to play around with camera equipment in the studio and did some short videos using the flip camera. ... [Read More...]
Social Networking
I’ve been recently introduced to the Social Media World from studying Multi-Media at UBC. It’s been a real eye opener to find out that I’ve been out of touch with how to network now through Social Media. Everyday, I blog, Twitter and use Facebook for networking. It’s great and I feel so connected in sharing information. Also, I was also pleasantly surprised to read that we as Canadians are rated tops in using Social Media. Here’s... [Read More...]

In a recent CBC article, Granby resident, Nathalie Blanchard, reminds us of the dangers of posting personal photos to sites like Facebook. Blanchard suffers from depression. When her insurance company saw her party pics they figured she was better. Now she has to go to court to get her disability benefits back. More people are... [Read More...]

Google’s Wave – Microsoft’s Bing – big players, big changes
We’ve started doing a lot more in-house Voice-Over work at Media2o Productions (M2O). It’s really fun stuff. It’s also interesting that just as my recorded voice never sounds the same to me as it does to others – this seems to hold true for others doing VO work too. But, on to the big news – Google announced their latest innovation – Wave – today. Techcrunch has a great write up on it. If it’s half as... [Read More...]

This Week in Social Media Episode 2: Whither Newspapers, long live multicolumns
It might be a little late, but here is Episode 2 of This Week in Social Media. Now that I. mostly, have the swing of GarageBand I’m starting to do some fun stuff here. Regardless, in this episode I muse on how while printed newspapers might be on the ropes, the multicolumn design lives on. [podcast]http://blogm2o.com/wp-content/uploads/ThisWeekinSocMedEp2.mp3[/podcast] I hope that for episode 3 I’ll have someone to chat with instead of... [Read More...]

This Week in Social Media Episode 1
It’s been a long time since I’ve done a podcast. Maybe more accurately it’s been a long time since I’ve completed a podcast. With a little help from GarageBand and my new Snowball Mic I’ve managed to record a podcast and complete it all in one fell swoop. So without further ado here is Episode 1 of This Week in Social Media. Intro and outro music: Mighty Mullane by Derek Miller.
